Steps of configuring an email account on an iPhone

To start with the configuration procedure, you should navigate to the Settings menu from your Home screen. On the Settings page, you will find many options, such as Airplane Mode, Wi-Fi, Sounds and Wallpaper; where you should select the Mail, Contacts, Calendars tab.
Now, the Mail, Contacts, Calendars menu will appear on the screen. You need to start the configuration procedure from here. This can be started by choosing the Add Account option present under the Accounts section.
There are many preloaded options for choosing the preferred mail account. The default mail options are Microsoft Exchange, Gmail, Yahoo and Aol. If you want to create any other type or email account or want to configure your email with Media Temple service, you should ignore all the default options and choose Other tab from the list.
On the next screen, you should tap on the Add Mail Account. It should be noted that clicking on any other option may cause an error and you might need to start over again.
Proceeding further, you need to enter the basic account information, such as your name, email address, password and description on the next screen. After filling up the fields, click on the Next tab.
As the New Account window will appear on the screen, you will have to enter the outgoing mail server details. You should use your access domain to enter the Host Name, followed by your unique username and password. It is important to fill up all the boxes because the fields are not optional, although your iPhone may indicate so. Upon the completion, you should verify the text entered in all the fields and click on the Save button. Now, all the account information provided by you will be verified by your iPhone.
When the information is verified completely, you will be redirected to the Mail window. Here, you will notice that the email account you created is present on the list.
Steps of configuring an email account on an Android phone

Now, for configuring an email account on your smart phone, you must know your email address, domain name, email password and access domain.
To begin with the procedure, you should navigate to the Settings menu and open the email client. As the Account Setup page will appear on the screen, you will have to enter you email address and the corresponding password. Once done, you should tap on the Next button.
On the Account Type screen, you will find the POP3, IMAP and Exchange options, where the IMAP option is the recommendable one.

On the next screen, you have to insert the Incoming server information. It is recommendable to use the access domain for this step. You should insert the username, password and your IMAP server information in respective fields. You can leave the Security type box without any modifications and skip the IMAP path prefix box. Once done, you should click on the Next button.
Now, you need to configure your outgoing server. For this, you should use your access domain again for filling up the SMTP server box. Apart from this, you can skip the Security type option and fill up 587 on the Port box. Once done, you must ensure that the “Require Sign-in” box has been marked. Then, you need to insert your username and password before hitting the Next tab.
You can now configure the additional Account options to complete the procedure. Upon the completion, you will notice that an email account has been configured on your Android phone.
